Job Description:

Are you handy, have a knack for repairing things, and known to friends and family as MacGyver? if so, our Facilities Service Technician job may be the one for you! We're kidding about being MacGyver but we are looking for someone who can do general maintenance and repair at our Panera Bread locations.

 Job Duties - Repair & Maintenance

s  Provide first line of response to facility maintenance needs. Inspect and diagnose remedial problems.

s  Provide building maintenance input and feedback to manager.

s  Monitor contracted maintenance repair work, alterations, and renovation upgrades and works with construction installation activities and processes as required by manager.

s  Complete “cosmetic repair needs’ audits on all locations quarterly and ensure completion of repairs with a two-week time period.

s  Perform minor interior and exterior repairs as necessary (ie, tiling, painting).

Job Duties - Administrative

s  Maintain tools, materials and supplies.

s  Maintain accurate work records of preventative maintenance inspection reports, work schedules, backlogs, and completed work orders.

 Job Duties – Safety

s  Promote safety by example by adhering to safety practices and code compliance.

s  Resolve and/or report any unsafe working conditions or practices to manager.

 Depending on tasks that need to be completed some early morning/late evening hours may be necessary.

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications

s  High school diploma or GED combined with a minimum of four years building or industrial maintenance experience.

s  Ability to read and comprehend blue prints, building drawings, instructions, safety data sheets and other safety information required for proper performance of the work.

s  A general knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting practices and procedures.

s  Operating knowledge of manual and small power tools commonly used in carpentry, maintenance construction, grounds, and custodial maintenance trades.

s  Ability to read and comprehend preventive maintenance manuals for equipment and systems. A general knowledge of preventive maintenance practices for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and components.

s  A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

s  Must be able to work varying shifts for completion of tasks.

s  Must provide own tools with the exception of any specialty tools unique to the business. 

Physical Requirements

s  Must be able to stoop, crouch, crawl and bend for extended periods of time.

s  Must be able to push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs.

s  Must be able to lift 75 lbs as needed.

s  Must be able to climb on a ladder at 20 ft as needed.

s  Must be able to work in heat and cold as needed.
